BBQ Sunday 30th September 2007

Today was our final function for the reunion this year. We had a BBQ lunch at the Moree Services Club which was very well attended. The conversations flowed just as at the dinner the previous evening. Andy Watson got even with the boys by throwing chalk at them today as a payback from yesterday. It kept us very amused and the boys loved it.

We all agreed that we must have another reunion perhaps in five years time and maybe some local get togethers for those living in Brisbane and Sydney areas - just by way of keeping in touch.

Dinner - Saturday 29th September 2007

Tonight we had 63 people attend the buffet dinner at the Moree Services Club to celebrate 50 years since we left Moree High School. The evening was beautifully organised by Sandy Adams (Kilborn) & everyone had a very enjoyable evening.

Ken Rottenberry was the MC for the evening. Robert Taylor ran us through visions of the old Moree business sites bringing back the old Moree as we knew it.
Robert also instigated a story leading up to all the boys throwing some chalk at Andy Watson, who took it all in good spirit. We had a good laugh & remembered the times when we all lived in terror of getting Andy's attention and a bit of chalk flying in our direction.

It was wonderful to have the opportunity to catch up with our school mates and some of our teachers & have a chat about the good old days. We never seem to lack in conversation at these reunions.

On this occasion to mark the passing of some of our classmates, Sandy had arranged to have a candle for each person which was lit in their memory (Images attached).

We also received a gift bottle of wine with a special 50 year reunion label.(Photo attached at the School Poem posting)

Walk through the school 29th Sept 2007

This afternoon we had a walk through our old school - hosted by Gloria Wales (Monoghan). We all met at the school and were split into two groups. We were escorted through the school, seeing the honour boards first then the old part of the school that we would remember. The new part of the school is quite extensive and the equipment of the modern school is impressive. We all enjoyed the afternoon and met some of our old school friends for the first time this weekend.
